Oltmans Construction Co. negotiated and contracted Barnum and Celillo Electric Inc. (BCE) for the Amazon SCK3 project located in Manteca CA in late 2020. Although BCE was not under contract for the shell scope of the project, there was no doubt they were the preferred subcontractor leading into the Amazon tenant buildout. During the course of the project, BCE was not only critical completing the Amazon tenant buildout on schedule, but was equally essential tackling a multitude of issues. For example, early during the pre-construction phase, BCE performed a complete assessment and helped redesign the warehouse lighting in conjunction with the project engineering team, both increasing efficiency while reducing costs. With their continued engineering assistance, a more cost-effective and time saving approach for the one-line distribution of the new service was provided to the existing shell.

Throughout the project, BCE exhibited an extremely high level of professionalism and proficiency. One of the largest challenges of the project was coordinating with PG&E to provide power. Through this process BCE designed, permitted and put into action a temporary power plan that included the use of six (6) individual generator units. This quick call to action allowed Amazon to not only occupy the facility but also be fully functional as PG&E worked through the final power restrictions.
